Don’t be a turkey

First let me preface what I am about to present to you by stating that if you speed, you certainly deserve a ticket. If you want to race your street car or test its performance go to a SCCA or NASA event.

With that said, nothing is more annoying that being “set-up” for a violation by unsuspectingly driving through a speed trap. I got caught in one in Vermont a few years back that cost me $300. I was basically keeping up with traffic when I got yanked. I paid the 300, which was way inflated for the violation and pledged never to return to the state, and I haven’t.

Now, with all of that said, and American Thanksgiving just around the corner, we turn to the National Motorists Association who has prepared a list of the worst speed traps in all fifty states.

The results were based on a pole of motorists taken over the last two years. So, if you are traveling by car during the holiday don’t get caught in a “turkey shoot.”

Once again, I’m not a big fan in terms of what the NMA is releasing. They sort of thumbs their noses at law enforcement and say that unless you’re in one of these area’s you can hammer the throttle.

So take the list for what it’s worth and beware of the following locations.
