Autoblog reports that Chevy has cancelled plans to sell a right hand drive Camaro in the UK, citing a lack of cash needed to fund the project. But British fans aching for the new Camaro are not completely out of luck. Apparently Chevy can import 100 units before being required to meet UK auto safety regulations. You’re dead right in thinking Chevy is going to make each one count-only the 422hp V-8 Camaro SS is going to be making the trip across the pond, at a cost of around $50,000 USD.
If GM can turn itself around, I hope they green-light this project in the future. First drives of the Camaro, even in base V-6 form, have been extremely positive. In my opinion, a RHD Camaro would be a great image car for Chevy on a global stage. Why not send one to Japan as well?
