Funny Man Verne Troyer takes delivery of a new Tesla roadster

January 4, 2018 by Gary Grant Leave a Comment

I always knew that actor Verne Troyer, who will forever be known as Mini Me from the Austin Powers movies was cool, but until I discovered his massive collection of web videos, I had no idea how active he is in today’s media. I also didn’t know that he was totally into cars and food, two of my greatest passions!

In this recent episode of his web series, Troyer takes delivery of his new Tesla, a Verne sized roadster!

The highlight has to be when he drifts the little red rocket around his garage.

Meet Randy Rod-Knock and his flying Subaru

June 16, 2017 by Gary Grant Leave a Comment

“Faster than Travis Pastrami and Sébastien Ear Lobe combined”

Forget pickup trucks, Canadian rednecks prefer to hoon in Subarus! At least the rally focused brand is the vehicle of choice for rural Ontario funny guy Randy Rod-Knock!

Taking over a property just a few minutes away from the historic Mosport circuit at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the guy shreds the lawn before taking flight off a berm in the yard.

Caution: NSFW language to follow.

Car Life makes these racers HAPPY

August 21, 2014 by Gary Grant Leave a Comment

happy

I am a firm believer that those of us who work in and around the motorsport world have the best jobs on the planet, and yet I have never seen so many people having as much fun at the track as they are in this video.

Shot at a recent Formula Drift/Motor Games event at Fuji Speedway, the video features competitors, crew and even media getting their groove on to Pharrell Williams “Happy”. Popular Super GT racer Max Orido even gets in on the action.

I think we need more smiles in North American paddocks.

This is why you use the parking brake!

September 26, 2012 by Gary Grant 3 Comments

I suspect most drivers have gotten out of their car and forgotten to put the shifter into park or apply the parking brake if the car is stick. I know I have, but when you have parked on a hill, you might put a little more thought into it.

If watching this young lady back up the driveway isn’t painful enough, what comes next is unreal. At the top of the driveway, she gets out of the car and walks back to pick up something on the driveway. Somehow she manages to avoid being crushed by the runaway Mercedes-Benz, only to get smoked by the driver’s door.

This one came VERY close to becoming a Darwin Award winner!

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that handing the keys to an M3 and sending him out on a twisty desert road will not end well. Add in a GoPro and you have a recipe for a record of the impending disaster as the kid attempts to prove just how fast he really is. In this teaser clip from an upcoming episode of Mischief TV, we see just how badly this scenario can play out on a road in rural Arizona.

Infographic – Top Gear’s Star In A Reasonably Priced Car

February 28, 2012 by Gary Grant Leave a Comment

We all love Top Gear’s Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, but the stats end of things can be a bit confusing at times. Not only have there been so many stars, but those of us in North America often don’t have a clue who some of the Brit TV & radio personalities are. This fun infographic from carbuzz.co.uk helps clear things up a bit.

What instructors really want to say to the Nightmare Track Day Student. NSFW

September 17, 2010 by Gary Grant Leave a Comment

A few months ago, we introduced you to that fellow we all know: the Nightmare track day student. That wonderful little creation detailed how the conversation often goes when instructors encounter an overly difficult student.

We all know the instructor in that case was on his best behavior. Now, thanks to the creative mind of youtube user blahblahblah55209 we can hear what he really thought!

Video after the break is very NSFW, nor should the kiddies be anywhere within earshot.

Tales from The Border

July 26, 2010 by Gary Grant Leave a Comment

The following tale was sent to me by a long time racer who resides here in Ontario. Only the names have been changed to protect those involved.

I make 15-20 trips into the US during the summer months. I’ve never had a problem on the US side. Sure we get some cranky Inspectors from time to time, just answer their questions as simply as possible and away we go.

About 10 years ago on our return to Canada, we got a pink slip, this was the only time to date that I had to go to the secondary inspection. We were asked to step outside the motorhome while they inspected it. A very young rookie came out of the motorhome and asked me “Do you have anything hidden in there” I said NO, he then said “Have you ever seen the inside of a motorhome pulled apart” I said, “Actually yes, I was service manager at a Winnebago dealer for several years”, he then said “I’m paid by the hour, so I can spend as much time as I want taking the interior apart, do you have anything hidden,” again I said “no, I don’t have anything hidden” without hesitation, he said, OK you are free to go. I thanked him and took off mumbling to my wife,”I guess it’s his bottle and change his diaper time”

Flood Watch: Infiniti

March 14, 2010 by Tom Williams 1 Comment

I enjoy living by the beach on the Connecticut coast, but there are some trade-offs, like the beach migrating to your driveway. We were hit with some hard wind and rain over the weekend, which flooded out our street. When high tide arrives during storms such as these, it is a problem. We are equipped with an emergency P.A. system that is loud enough to wake you from a dead sleep, and the sirens came on last night, with instructions to move your cars to high ground.

It appears my neighbor down the street was not around to move his Infiniti G37S, which now has sand up to the brake calipers and exhaust pipes. You would never believe it by looking at the pic, but this car is parked on a concrete driveway.
