Here we are on a snowy Sunday morning in Ontario, while some lucky folks like Gary Faules and Lucky are pacing the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in sunny California. I can’t wait for photos. It was really nice of Mrs. G to shovel the driveway this morning after delivering papers, so I’m free to sit here in front of the laptop and blog away to my heart’s content. So grab a java, strap in and get ready for another quick lap of the auto blogs.

We haven’t heard from Jeff Fisher at DrivingEnthusiast in a couple of weeks. This time, Jeff is reviewing an Autoweek review of the new MINI. While I just love the car, Jeff can’t stand it. It looks like the Autoweek reviewer is on Jeff’s side.

Caution, Rant ahead!
As we all know, the traditional media folks have an ongoing bias against online journalists. Perhaps the Autoweek editors should have a look at their MINI review. Fortunately the author is anonymous, so I don’t feel bad saying it looks like it was written by an ESL student. Quality control people, please!

This week’s submission from Cell Phone Guru really isn’t automotive related, but I decided to include it anyway, cause I’m in a giving mood. Actually, as Mike points out, the new Nokia 2135 has a killer new speaker phone mode which makes hands free use while driving possible without a headset. I guess that makes it somewhat automotive related.

Over at RaceDriven, Brian recounts the biggest surprises, thrills and disappointments of the 2007 racing season. I’ve gotta say that I agree with Brian about NASCAR’s choice of penalties for Kurt Busch following the pit road incident at Dover. Any driver who endangers pit lane crew (or anybody else for that matter) deserves far more than a slap on the wrist.
