With the LA Auto Show going on this week, one would think there has been a ton of excitement. Maybe there has been, but it seems to have passed me by. Maybe I’m just a bit on the crusty side, maybe I’m too far away from it all but I haven’t felt the excitement. Today is the last race of the season for NASCAR and that pretty much wraps up all the series I think, so maybe I’m just feeling let down because there is no racing for a while. No worries though, as we’ve still got the Carnival of Wheels to keep us busy on a Sunday morning! So grab a java, tighten down the shoulder straps and get ready for a hot lap of the auto blogs!
First up, we head back over to the land of Race Driven, where Brian is still talking about Bruton Smith and the tracks at New Hampshire and North Wilkesborough. Personally, I don’t think you can move a track. If you move it, you are essentially creating a new track. Something is lost along the way.
A newcomer to the CoW this week is PipStore. Now I don’t usually include commercial blogs in the CoW, but they have submitted a useful post about some of the different types of aftermarket lighting options. Light is good, so extra light is awesome!
Craig from Autofix sent in a couple of posts this week related to the Mitsubishi Pajero and the case of the loosening crankshaft bolt. Now Craig was wondering if this was an issue here in North America with the Montero like it is Down Under. To be honest, I’m not sure as we only have a handful of customers who drive them at our store. Either way, the tool that Craig has designed should help ease the pain a bit.
An honorable mention this week goes to Mark Tapscott and the Carnival of Cars. The Carnival of Cars used to be a weekly staple in the blogosphere until the real world crept up and Mark had to put it to bed for a while, which prompted me to begin the CoW. Over the past few months, Mark has posted the CoC sporadically in a new location over at Edmunds.com Over the past few weeks, Mark seems to have been finding the time to keep the carnival rolling. It’s good to see it back!
That’s it for this week’s hot lap around the auto blogs. Be sure to visit our bloggers and come back next week for another lap. Bloggers, don’t forget to share the link love with the CoW and send some of your readers our way. Also, as always the submission deadline for next week is Saturday at Midnight.
