Carnival of Wheels: Edition #45

cow5.jpg

Watchful readers will have noticed that we had some technical difficulties here in The Garage yesterday which precluded the writing of the newest edition of the Carnival of Wheels. Fear not though, as the problems have been rectified and things are back to some sort of normal, so let’s get on with it.

A Brock Commodore without engine and suspension enhancements can be likened to a meat pie without sauce!

That’s what Craig Wilson from AutoFix has to say about the upcoming release of all new Brock Commodores. It’s great to see Craig back in the CoW.

We have a newcomer to the CoW who is also a newcomer to the blogosphere. John Wen has a pretty decent list of how to buy a car cheap from a government auction. Looks like a pretty decent list.

In last week’s CoW, Travel Hacker sent us some fun, sexy travel suggestions. This week, there is still nothing wheels related, but who cares when they’ve created a great list of events for geeks looking to get their freak on.

I don’t know if it’s the screwed up old version of Explorer on the machine I’m having to use today(likely), or if the template at RaceDriven is screwed up. Either way, I can’t read most of what Brian has written! It looks like there is a tale of a new race track and maybe one closing. It’s hard to tell when you can only read two thirds of every line.

That’s it for yet another Carnival of Wheels. Don’t forget to swing by next week, when we get our stuff together on Sunday as usual. Bloggers, don’t forget to send in your posts by Saturday at midnight just in case I somehow get up early when the girls are delivering papers!

Hi Gary, its Brian from Racedriven, I read above that you had a problem reading the article I submitted to the CoW, you were using an old IE browser, I know what the problem is, the older IE browsers don’t read the template correctly, it over laps the two columns, I have altered the template so it should work now, sorry about that.

The article I submitted “Bruton Smith – SMI: The tale of New Hampshire International Speedway and North Wilkesboro Speedway.”, the article details the new purchase of NHIS and North Wilksboro Speedway by SMI and what the future for both could be including what this racing fan would like to see changed at NHIS now NHMS.

I ended the article saying that Bruton Smith and SMI should move the Lowe’s Motor Speedway from Concord, NC to the site of North Wilksboro Speedway in NC and the track should became a 0.6 mile short tarck, what a great improvement that should be. Again, I’m sorry you couldn’t read my blog.

Oh, there is no question that this is a result of IE 6.0 which is unfortunately the browser of choice on the machine I was using today. Sometimes it’s hard to get the IT department to unlock PC’s so the users have some control over their day!
