Well folks, it’s been an eventful weekend here in The Garage, full of hockey, volleyball and entertaining. Oh yes, there was also to car accident yesterday. Don’t worry, everyone is ok but the Protege5 is going to get at least one new door. It’s a rainy, nasty Sunday afternoon and I think I’m actually going to watch me a roundy round race and enjoy a pint or five. So while we wait for the race to begin, why not grab a cold one and join me for a quick lap around the blogosphere for this week’s Carnival of Wheels.

First on the block isn’t really wheels related, in fact its not even remotely travel related other than the fact that it involves travel. And Sex. We’re all feeling the pinch when it comes to the cost of fuel these days and fuel efficiency is a prime motivator for many new car buyers. To help readers work things out, Mike at Hybrid Car Review has compiled a list of the top 82 fuel mileage machines based on combined city/highway. Bet you can’t guess which is number 1.

While we’re talking about saving money, let’s switch to another topic I’m thinking about this weekend. Car insurance. Steve Faber from Debt Free rightly points out that for many people, car insurance is one of each months biggest bills. He has a bunch of great tips to help keep insurance costs down. Of course he left out the two most obvious. Don’t hit anything and don’t get caught speeding. I guess those are no brainers.

Over at RaceDriven, Brian is so fed up with cautions that he’s falling asleep in front of the tv. I hear ya Brian, cause I find it hard to stay awake through a roundy round at the best of times, let alone when they are driving around at 70 mph under caution. I know I’m out of touch with NASCAR, but who the heck is this Reutimann guy?
