That’s it folks, Summer is over and Fall has arrived. Though looking outside today you’d never know it was Fall in Ontario. Fear not though, I spoke with a friend in Alberta last night and they already have snow above the tree line. With the onset of Fall means the end of racing soon and the beginning of snowy rally conditions. Today’s Carnival of wheels is a quick one with a bit of fun and a bunch of motorsports. It’s after 12 here in sunny Ontario, so crack open a cold one and join me in a quick hot lap around the blogosphere.
First up, let’s have a bit of fun with the folks at Hello Kitty Hell. This poor guy is living an automotive cartoon nightmare. First there was the Hello Kitty tailpipe and now she wants to install these Hello Kitty wheels.
Never one to soften his opinion, Jeff Fisher at Driving Enthusiast is disappointed with Honda’s press coverage of the recent S2000 Homecoming in Torrance, California. Not only is Jeff less than enthusiastic about the coverage, but he thinks the lackluster reporting may hold the key to the S2000’s lackluster sales.
Last weekend, Brian Vermette from Race Driven and his pops got to experience NASCAR up close and personal with media credentials and access to the Shell-Pennzoil pit box. Working an event like this really does give you a different view of life in the pits and is a very exciting way to go. As commenter Henry Cipolla points out, a driver can learn more from a corner worker’s station, but then again you are actually working and are more restricted in your activities. Hitting pit lane with a camera is definitely the way to go as a reporter.
Speaking of Henry, he’s part of a gang that calls themselves the Pansy Patrol. These guys are a bunch of track dogs who are new to blogging, but are doing a great job relaying their experiences to readers. This week, they are sharing some thoughts about the perfect line. Is there really such a thing? Novice driver’s should head over and visit this series by SCDA driving instructor Noah, you’ll learn a lot.
As promised, that was a quick one! Now it’s time to head outside and wash the truck and maybe even clean out The Garage a bit to make room for a load of firewood. Be sure to swing back next Sunday for another lap. Bloggers, remember to get your submissions in before midnight on Saturday to be included in next week’s Carnival of Wheels.
