Carnival of Wheels: Edition #14: Better Late Than Never

cow5.jpg

It would be great to say that this week’s Carnival of Wheels is late due to some late night race car build, but it’s nothing that glamorous. Life is just catching up. We haven’t even had a chance to think about the impending karting season. Don’t know what class the kids are racing in or what they’re driving yet, we just know that in a few weeks things will get rolling. It seems that maybe everyone is a tad busy this week, as we’ve only got a few submissions this week. Enough talk, let’s get reading!

Like it or not, NASCAR fans have been waiting with bated breath to see the Car of Tomorrow Today in action. Will it save drivers? Will it be exciting? Boring? Faster? Slower? Diehards hate the wing. Almost everyone agrees the car is pretty ugly. CoW regular Brian at RaceDriven doesn’t think the CoT made all that big a difference at Bristol. I watched the last 20 minutes or so & it looked ok to me. You’ll have to visit to see what Brian thinks of The Wing.

The Garage is all over the importance of brand image. Brand can make or break a product. The classic Ralph Lauren button down oxford shirt is a prime example. Is it really any better than the oxford button down from Old Navy? Of course not, but it doesn’t have the little pony above the carefully sculpted moob. Over at DrivingEnthusiast, Jeff is having issues with the Shelby moniker that’s attached to a few modern Mustangs. Are the Shelby cars really worth that much more than the Old Navy version?

Next up we have a couple of newcomers to the CoW

First up is Zorlod from Life Is Hard, who seems to have found us through the star of the pizza wagon wars. How hard can life be when you are cleaning the winter dust of the convertible Stang and heading out to blow off the cobwebs? It sounds like Life is Sweet at Life is Hard!

Over at Think or Thwim, Jeff has a yearning for a great big Bug.

Our thoughts go out to one of our regulars here at the CoW. Anyone who’s had a back injury knows how debilitating it can be. In Craig’s case, not only did it put his career on hold, but it’s cutting into his blogging! Don’t worry mate: Autofix will still be there when the muscle relaxants wear off.

That’s it for this week, glad you came to visit. Don’t forget to get your submissions in for the Easter/Passover Bunny Edition by Saturday evening.

Hey man, we gotta look after each other! Besides…I need a new tech! Don’t think I could afford the relocation costs though!

Don’t tempt me, after the last 18months a change is definately on the cards - maybe not that drastic though!! Once again THANKYOU.
