Lets not waste too much space here repeating the obvious, but at this time of year, I think its worth re-visiting the car Buzz factor. Your car’s most important storage compartment is the battery. The primary function of the battery is to start the engine with stored energy, once having done so, it merely waits to be re-buzzed, sort-to-speak, by the alternator. So really, we just need to make sure the energy is there when we need it most.
Cold and hot weather both play havoc on the stored charge and there’s not much we can do about it. We can all take some minor steps however to make sure we get the best bang for the buck when we need it. Keeping the surface of the top of the battery clean is vital. A small amount of moisture atop the battery will create a circuit and slowly drain the battery much like leaving a dome light on. Weak, dirty or corroded terminals are also problematic areas as not all of the power will be able to travel to where you need it most.
