Dodge announced the pricing for their new 2009 Journey crossover first reveled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this past fall. This is Dodge’s first plunge into the segment.
Offered at a little under $20,000, Dodge is hoping that the price point steers some potential buyers away from the Mazda CX-9, Hyundai Veracruz, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Edge.
When sales of the new Journey begin in the first quarter of 2008 the starting price for the 2009 Dodge Journey SE will be $19,985. The SE is powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder. The SXT, $22,985 and R/T, $26,545 trims are available with a 3.5L V6 with a six-speed automatic. If you want all-wheel-drive the starting prices are $25,530 for the SXT and $28,295 for the R/T.
The Dodge Journey is built on the company’s global D-segment platform. In the Dodge brand line-up, this new crossover falls between the compact Caliber and the Grand Caravan.
