The upcoming Ford Flex has been creating quite the buzz lately, and Ford is hoping that today’s production line launch of the hip new crossover will bring some of that buzz to showrooms. It was pretty invigorating being surrounded by several hundred guys and girls who are fired up about a new vehicle they were building. The in house enthusiasm for the Flex is contagious and it was plain to see that everyone in attendance has high expectations for Ford’s newest family hauler.

One Buzz that was absent, was CAW chief Buzz Hargrove who was off somewhere dealing with GM’s announcement that the Oshawa truck line would be closed. This too was pretty significant, as Ford’s crossovers are selling so well that the Oakville plant is about to add 500 more jobs.

To add a little oomph to the presentation, Ford brought hockey legend Wayne Gretzky to the stage for a brief photo op. Unfortunately, the low lighting was too much for my feeble camera skills, so I present a bunch of images supplied by the folks at Ford

Always helps Canadian marketing efforts to have your product shown alongside “The Great One.”

Yep…and interestingly it seems he was also meeting with the Leafs later in the day. Could he be the Leaf’s new GM?
