The wonders of the gootubez never cease to amaze. Mr. Faules was wasting some time cruising through youtube last night when he came across this little bit of tire shredding goodness.
I think it can be beaten. Yes folks…I’m laying down the gauntlet for our other guy on the west coast. Come on Von Minden, we all know you can do better than this!

As a kid, like many other boys I was drawn to the Jeep CJ. There was a guy down the street with a denim edition and it was just beyond cool. I mean, the roof & doors came off and it had a roll bar and big tires. If that wasn’t cool, what was?
That is what the Jeep brand was all about, was cool. The Jeep lifestyle was carefree and fun and so were the people who drove them. Over the years, the marketing folks at Jeep have been very careful to always have the core CJ/YJ/TJ that kept the brand true to the concept, even if some of the companion models weren’t quite so freedom inspiring. On the technical side, they always made sure that these core vehicles were off road worthy right from the showroom floor. Continue reading →
Belting through traffic, I feel as if I should be slaloming wash lines, market carts and pavement cafes, rather than behemoth SUVs, Cube Vans and moderately enraged drivers… one of which happens to be our cameraman in a pursing BMW 535xi. There’s Italian city car flair to the Suzuki SX4, and for good reason; in essence it is a Fiat Sedici…
“Could you do me a favor? In our motor home, in the bedroom, go to my closet. All the way in the back of the closet, there’s a blue dress. Maybe you should wear it next time you qualify!”
Find out what Pregnant beotch said that to her hubby following qualifying for last year’s IRL race at Mid-Ohio at Jalopnik.
Jay Leno is a lucky guy. Not only has he built a career doing something he loves, but he’s earned the right to gain access to the world’s coolest cars. What more could a guy want? In this latest video release from the Big Dog Garage, Jay gets to put the 2009 Nissan GT-R through it’s paces. He may have been on the street, but just watch how quickly Godzilla snaps Leno’s sizable melon back when he stamps on the loud pedal!
There is a great car for sale on Ebay for anyone who enjoys the rich history of the Vanderbilt Cup Series. Here is what it says about the car.
1904 Thomas Model 27 Racer
This is straight line 6 cylinder 12.3 liter 750 cubic inch 60 h.p. engine was engineered and built for the 1904 Vanderbilt Cup Race. A production version of this engine became available with a racing body at the Thomas dealership. New recast engine block. Ground up restoration in 2007.
From what I can see in the photos, the detail is excellent. Check out the close-up of the cotter pins in every single section of chain link. Considering in was built back in 1904 the seats are way ahead of their time due to the fact they had such good side support. Having over 750 cubic inches and yet only producing an amazing whopping 60 horsepower just goes to show how far technology has brought us in this day and age. And just think, as of right now it can be yours for less than $500,000.00.
Remember when we showed you Ken Block’s day of ripping up and down a snowboard park? Yes? Well, so did Warren Currie. The Captain of The Easyrider set out to make it happen and ended up with 3 hours on Rabbit Hill, with the Flat Over Crest team in tow. The result is an incredibly fun vid with lots of air time.
The latest in a series of videos from the Andrew Comrie-Picard camp is this stunning piece covering Team ACP at the 2008 Olympus Rally. If you are a regular reader, you’ll recognize the shooting style of Warwick Patterson and the rest of the team at Flat Over Crest.
While the current bodied Nissan Xterra is far from outdated, platform has been around since 2005 which means it is reaching the end of the usual 4 year cycle. TCC has a collection of shots from Brenda Priddy & Co. of the upcoming model change. There doesn’t appear to be much change to the actual body, meaning it will be more of a cosmetic restyle rather than a full overhaul. If the grille & bumper stay the way it appears, Star Wars fans will be excited as there is more than a little resemblance to and X-wing fighter.
Once again, there are just so many incredible images in The Garage Blog Flickr pool, that I can’t make up my mind. Rather than a photo of the week, I think I’m just going to share them randomly.
This incredible shot of a Lotus in the fog was taken by Roberto Blank. I just love the contrast of the yellow machine with the grandstand lurking in the fog behind it.
