One of our readers was looking for more info on the entry list from the 69 Can-Am at Mosport, so I promised that I’d have a look. Look what I found. Not one, but a pair of pristine admission tickets! $6 to get in to the greatest show on earth!

Some kind soul has gone and posted the Fifth Gear road test of the new Volvo C30 on YouTube, and now we bring it to you. I still love the styling. It’s cool that they’ve included the glass tailgate, just like in the old P1800 ES. The center console looks really cool & the blind spot warning system seems like a great idea.
Enjoy!

Every weekend during the winter, Ontario’s lakes are covered with snowmobile riding rednecks trying to set a new land speed record before they get smoked by a pressure crack. Down in the South Western States, they have the same concept, except it’s warm and they get to drive cars. Well, some of them look like cars anyway.

Who even knew that Saab tried their hand at building a Formula Car? It seems they may have even stumped Swade over at Trollhattan Saab. The pic above is from Dewane & he’s got more here.

And Fords and Chevy’s and tons more, but really, there seems to be more Volvos than usual at a vintage event. Coop over at Positive Ape Index has some incredible parking lot shots of the La Carrera Panamerica field, like the P1800 above and a few stories to boot.
Thanks for taking the effort to post Coop. I’m very jealous sitting up here in The Great White North.

Maybe it’s just me, but there seems to be something wrong with this story. A large UK Nissan dealership has teamed up with a local license plate manufacturer to create this cool pink Micra, which currently sits in the showroom at Chorley Nissan in North West England.
The base price of a Micra C+C is 14,750 pounds. The combo of the car and the plate BAR81E are priced at 36,250!!!! The dealer plans to donate a whopping 250 pounds to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a very worthy cause. Interestingly, the folks at NewReg have pledged 21,500 when the car has sold.
Somehow, it seems like the dealership stands to gain more than anybody.

How does unofficial viral marketing happen? It’s pretty simple really, one day a voice comes from a speaker in the ad agency (think Charlie’s Angels) and tells the little marketing drones to put something cool together and post it on youtube. Oh yes, don’t put our logos on it anywhere, because we don’t want people to know we were involved.
Such is the newest offering from Nissan. Call this mini SUV meets X-Games. There are 2 videos and a web site, though the site doesn’t work too well at this point.
Do not attempt this at home kids!
See video number 2 after the break.

Today was a bittersweet day. Number 27 left the Ranta household after living there for the last 43 years. It has begun it’s journey back to Germany, where it will be lovingly restored by the crew at Ruf Automobile in Pfaffenhausen under the watchful eye of Alois Ruf. Following it’s resto, the car will tour Europe as it did in the sixties and then finish up in the Ruf Porsche Museum.

The racers at La Carrera Panamerica seem to be having some great times down in Mexico. Qualifying saw a few spctacular moments, like this shark that went looking for water. The crowds of spectators look like they are massive. I can’t believe the way the Mexican community seems to be reacting to this event. It looks incredible.
Most of the racers are just too busy racing to get their stories & pics posted, but you can keep tabs on things at the Unlimited Class Blog. Be sure to look for the shots of the flying Mini.
