Gregory drove for UDT Lotus in that 1962 race. Both Ferrari (NART) & UDT used the Peterborough Chrysler dealers garage at night to work on the cars. I had gotten to know some of the UDT mechanics the previous year & went to the garage after my part-time job. The UDT team was replacing the motor in Gregory’s car & Ferrari the motor on Innes Ireland’s. The garage was an old style with low ceilings…the Ferrari mechanics finished first & fired up the V12! It’s a wonder anyone in that building had any hearing left after that!!! I also got to turn a couple of wrenches with the UDT crew on the Lotus 19 which made it one of the great nights of my life!
